Cream Cheese
Delight
Cream
Cheese Delight is always in our refrigerator for an instant delicious
protein source.
- One 12 oz. container
of fat free cream cheese (Compare national brand to store brand, chose
the one with highest protein content. Hint: It starts with "P"
and ends with "hilly".)
- 1/8 to 1/4 cup
water
- 1/2 t vanilla
or Vanilla Nut Flavoring (this is a Watkins Flavoring--see Karen's
Kitchen Catalogue)
- 2 T granulated
fructose (Found in Health food stores, or in the dietetic section
of your grocery store. Fructose is a favorable carb because it is
digested in the intestines since it doesn't have to be broken down
by the body. Therefore it has a low glycemic index.)
Whiz
all ingredients in blender, return to container and refrigerate. The added
moisture keeps the fat free cream cheese from transforming itself into
that rubber hard mass that it seems to become 2 minutes after you put
it on your bagel. Makes 16 oz., or eight 2 T servings = 1 protein
block each.
