The Golden DomeSubmitted by Pat Bonhoff, who writes, "I thought I would send this for your Thanksgiving Menu. We had it this year and even those family members at the table that don't eat cauliflower enjoyed it. The entire head of cauliflower in the dish makes for a great presentation! "You may want to adjust the fat blocks. I didn't have any low-fat cheese or mayo to compare the fat grams on the label with the ones in my database." This is recipe is by Jan Gollan, Pat's "Aunt Jan."
Trim and steam cauliflower until just done (try not to overcook). Cool cauliflower. Make topping by mixing mayonnaise, mustard and cheese until it is a spreadable consistency. "Frost" cool cauliflower in an oven proof dish, cover entire head of cauliflower with cheese mixture. Preheat oven to 350. Bake uncovered for about 10 - 15 minutes or until golden brown. Notes: Blocks= C 1/2, P 1, F 5 P.S. Pat writes, "I have also made this as a casserole by steaming the cauliflowerettes (?) and then pouring the sauce over it and baking it. Just as tasty but doesnn't look nearly as nice :) I hope everyone enjoys this as much as we do." |
