Phony Burger
Why Phony
Burger? Before vegetarianism was at it's Zenith, Acher Daniels Midland
Corporation came up with a beef substitute called TVP® or Textured
Vegetable Protein. Made from water extracted soybean protein, TVP®
was used as a beef extender. I remember that many ad campaigns were AGAINST
it because they thought it was DREADFUL that manufacturers were cutting
cost by adding beef fillers and extenders!!! The HORROR!
It was
just TVP®, that product which many of us now use TOTALLY in place
of beef. Ticks off those beef farmers.
